This is a completely off-topic subject, but I just noticed something. the Smurfs ("les shtroumpfs" as we call them there) must be the only child comic book dealing with Zombies invasion.

In case you think I have totally lost my mind, I am talking about "The Black Smurfs" [link] . Ok this is not really zombie, but damn, it's just close enough.

I remember when I first read it how fascinated I was by that story, and how a single case slowly transformed into a pandemic problem to soon see the village completely overwhelmed by the epidemy to finally see even Papa Smurf being contaminated. Of course, happy ending and in the end everything turned for the best. And the jokes! That story is actually damn funny with jokes at every pages. I was both frightened and attracted by this story, shaking in horror every time a smurf was bite, and sighing in relief when everyone was finally saved. Every time I was reading it.

It was the first stand alone Smurfs Story wrote, and it was also probably the best (it's my favorite anyway). This strange melting of joy, innocence, fear, horror and dark humor, rounded in way that childes actually enjoy it.

So if you haven't, go read "The Black Smurfs", the only Zombie story for children.
